| Memo: | Fletcher (1979) stated:- Incorrect type-species: Phalaena fasciata Fabricius, 1775, a name not originally included in Semiothisa and not linked with one of the originally included names when designated by Butler, 1881, Trans. ent. Soc. Lond. 1881: 348. Parsons et al. (1999) included 16 species and 2 subspecies (inc. nominates) in the genus SEMIOTHISA Hübner, 1818 and a further 141 species and 6 subspecies (inc. nominates) in the genus "SEMIOTHISA". |
