Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- TYPE-LOCALITY stated to be Surinam, but this was probably an error as the species illustrated is not known to occur in the New World but is present in southern India and Ceylon. P. feducia is a junior subjective synonym of Noctua itynx Fabricius, 1787, Mantissa Insect. 2: 136. Poole (1989) included SPEIREDONIA in the subfamily OPHIDERINAE, treated as CALPINAE by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Poole (1989) included SERICIA Guenée, 1852 as a junior synonym of SPEIREDONIA Hübner, 1823. Poole (1989) included 11 species in the genus SPEIREDONIA.
Type Comments: Type-locality stated to be Surinam
