Memo: Cowan (1968: 6) stated:- Differs from Charaxes Ochsenheimer in having the hindwing veins 3, 4 not stalked; a long tail at vein 4, whence the tornal profile is relatively simple (the varanes group of Aurivillius, 1912, in Seitz, Grschm. Erde 13 (13) : 138). See remarks above, against Hadrodontes. The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
