| Memo: | Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:- Striglina was placed on the Official List of Generic Names in Zoology with Name Number 2041 by the I.C.Z.N. in 1977, Bull. zool. Nom. 33 (Opinion 1075): 176, with an endorsement that it is to be given precedence over the generic name Daristane Walker, 1859, by any zoologist who believes that both names represent the same taxon. Invalid type-species designations. 1. Drepanodes scitaria Walker, [1863], a nominal species not originally included in Striglina and linked with not one but two of the originally included nominal species when designated by Hampson, [1893] 1892, Fauna Br. India (Moths) 1: 353; and 1897, Proc. zool. Soc. Lond. 1897: 613. 2. Drepanodes scitaria Walker, [1863], a nominal species not originally included in Striglina and not linked with one of the originally included nominal species when designated by Gaede, 1929, in Seitz, Gross-Schmett. Erde 14: 495; by Joannis, 1930 Annls Soc. ent. Fr. 98 (Suppl.): 595; by Gaede, 1932, in Seitz ibidem 10: 746; and by Gaede, 1936, in Seitz ibidem 6: 1194. STRIGLINA was included within the subfamily THYRIDIDAE: STRIGLININAE by Dugdale et al., in Kristensen (1999). |
