| Memo: | Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:- 1854, Syst. Bearbeitung Schmett. Eur. 5: 94. [Additional reference]. Strophedra was established in volume 6 in the legend to plate 11 figs 31-33 as Strophedra vigeliana without further comment. In volume 5 page 94 Herrich-Schäffer used Strophedra instead of Strophosoma Herrich-Schäffer, 1853, and stated that the latter name was a junior homonym of Strophosoma Billberg, 1820.
