| Memo: | Hemming (1967) stated:- Sodovskii introduced the name Symmachia quite unnecessarily as a replacement of Hesperia Fabricius, 1793. The name Symmachia Sodovskii is invalid, (a) because it a junior homonym of Symmachia Hübner, [1819], and (b) because it is a junior objective synonym of Hesperia Fabricius, 1793. The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008). |
