Memo: | Nye (1975) stated:- N. melaleuca Thunberg, is a junior homonym of Noctua melaleuca Vieweg, 1790, Tabellarisches Verz. Churmark Brandenburg einheimischen Schmett. 2: 68, -Noctuidae, Hadeninae. There is no objective replacement name but Noctua heliophila Paykull, 1793, Skr. Natarh.-Selskabet 2 (2): 102, pl. 2, fig. 5, is a junior subjective synonym of N. melaleuca Thunberg. The former is therefore available for use as the subjective replacement name. Sympistis was also used by Hübner, [1823], Samml. exot. Schmett. 2: pl. [202]. If accepted from this work it has the same type-species, by monotypy. Poole (1989) included SYMPISTOIDES Kozhanchikov, 1947 as a junior synonym of SYMPISTIS Hübner, 1823. Poole (1989) included 11 species in the genus SYMPISTIS. |
