Memo: Fletcher (1979) stated:- In the original combination of the type-species, the generic name was published as * Urapteryx, an incorrect subsequent spelling. Parsons et al. (1999) included 6 species and 5 subspecies (inc. nominates) in the genus THINOPTERYX.
