| Memo: | Fletcher (1979) stated:- Proposed as an objective replacement name for Lampetia Stephens, 1827, then believed to be preoccupied by * Lampetia Meigen, 1800. The proposal proved unnecessary as * Lampetia Meigen, 1800, was published in a work rejected for nomenclatural purposes by the Commission and Lampetia Stephens is now known to be a junior objective synonym of Erannis Hübner, [1825]. Thriptera Gistl could not in any case have been used as it is a junior homonym of Thriptera Solier, 1836, Annls Soc. ent. Fr. 5: 48 - Coleoptera. See: ERANNIS Hübner, [1825] 1816. Parsons et al. (1999) included CHIMADIA Speyer, 1839; HYBERNIA Berthold, 1827; LAMPETIA Stephens, 1827; and THRIPTERA Gistl, 1848 as junior synonyms of ERANNIS Hübner, 1825. |
