Memo: Hemming (1967) stated:- The name Timetes was originally proposed in manuscript by Boisduval about thirty years before he published it. Long before this however it had been published by Doubleday (as shown above) in a different sense. Timetes Boisduval is thus invalid as a junior homonym of Timetes Doubleday, 1844. Even if Timetes Boisduval had not been invalid under the Law of Homonymy, it would nevertheless have been invalid, as it is a junior objective synonym of Marius Swainson, [1830]. The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
