Memo: Hemming (1967) stated:- The name Trifurcula Staudinger is invalid under the Law of Homonymy, being a junior homonym (a) of Trifurcula Stainton, 1846 (Syst. Cat. Brit. Tin. : 30) and (b) of Trifurcula Zeller, 1848 (Linnaea Entom. 3 : 330). It has been replaced by the name Piercolias Grote, 1903. The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
