| Memo: | Nye (1975) stated:- These were probably errors as the species illustrated is not known to occur in the New World but is widespread from India through to New Guinea. A junior homonym of Trigonia Bruguiere, [1789] 1792, Encycl. meth. (Hist. nat. Verz.) 1: xiv, -Mollusca. There is no objective replacement name but P. cydonia is conspecific with Claterna exagens Walker, 1858, the type-species of Claterna Walker, 1858. The latter is thus available for use as a subjective replacement name. See: CLATERNA Walker, 1858. Poole (1989) included TRIGONIA Guenée, 1854 as junior synonyms of CLATERNA Walker, 1858. | |
