Memo: Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- A junior homonym of Turneria Forel, 1895, Annls Soc. ent. Belg. 39: 419, - Insecta, Hymenoptera. There is no objective replacement name, but S. hippophaes is congeneric with Sphinx euphorbiae Linnaeus, 1758, the type-species of Hyles Hübner, [1819]; the latter is thus available for use as a subjective replacement name. Kitching & Cadiou (2000) list CELERIO Agassiz, 1846; * CELERIO Oken, 1815; DANNERIA Eitschberger & Zolotuhin, 1998; EREMOHYLES Eitschberger & Zolotuhin, 1998, HAWAIINA Tutt, 1903; HIPPOHYLES Eitschberger & Zolotuhin, 1998; ROMMELIANA Eitschberger & Zolotuhin, 1998; SURHOLTIA Eitschberger & Zolotuhin, 1998; THAUMAS Hübner, 1819; TURNERIA Tutt, 1903; and WEISMANNIA Tutt, 1904 as junior synonyms of HYLES Hübner, 1819.
