Memo: Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- When Unzela was established, the genus contained a second species doudtfully included, which under Article 68(c) of the Code is not eligible for selection as type-species. Unzela discrepans is a subspecies of Sphinx japix Cramer, 1776, Uitlandsche Kapellen (Papillons exot.) 1: 137, pl.87, fig.C; S. japix is dated from the wrapper of part 8 of the work, not from the title-page of volume 1 which is dated 1779. See also: Cornipalpus Felder, 1874. Kitching & Cadiou (2000) list CORNIPALPUS Felder, 1874 as a junior synonym of UNZELA Walker, 1856.
