Memo: Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:- A junior homonym of Valdivia White, 1847 [April 17], List Crustacea Colln Br. Mus. : 31; and 1847 [July], Proc. zool. Soc. Lond. 1847: 85 - Crustacea. There is no objective replacement name but V. coquimbella was stated by Heinrich, 1956 Bull. U.S. natn. Mus. 207: 191, to be congeneric with Ciris lativitella Rogonot, 1887, the type-species of Maricopa Hulst, 1890; the latter is thus available for use as a subjective replacement name. Valdivia Ragonot, 1888, was placed by the I.C.Z.N. on the Official Index of Rejected and Invalid Genus-Group Names in Zoology with Name No. 514, as a junior homonym.
