Memo: Nye & Fletcher (1991) included XYSTOCEROS in the family SYMMOCIDAE, treated by Hodges, in Kristensen (1999) as a subfamily of AUTOSTICHIDAE. Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:- Xystoceras was included in the Oecophoridae by Fletcher, 1929, Mem. Dep. Agric. India (Ent.) 11: 227; in the Blastobasidae, by Clarke, 1955, Cat. Type Specimens Microlepid. Br. Mus. nat. Hist. descr. E. Meyrick 1: 23, and in the Gelechiidae by Clarke, 1969, ibidem 7: 524. It was placed in the Symmocidae by Gozmany, 1965, Acta zool. Acad. Sci. hung. 11: 106.
