| Memo: | Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:- Walker, 1855, cited one originally included nominal species Sphinx meteus Stoll, 1781, in Cramer, Uitlandsche Kapellen (Papillons exot.) 4: 109, pl.347, fig.B. Hampson, 1898, Cat. Lepid. Phalaenae Br. Mus. 1: 149, indicated that Walker had misidentified specimens as meteus which in reality belonged to a taxon later named as Zagaris crassa Felder. Zagaris is a case of a genus that has a misidentified type-species and so should be referred to the Commission under Article 70(a) of the Code. | |
