Memo: Zaretis Hübner, [1819] was designated as the type-genus for the new tribe Zaretinini and new subfamily Zaretidinae (Charaxidae) [Zaretis is now placed in the Nymphalidae, Charaxinae] by Rydon, 1971, Entomologist's Record and Journal of Variation 83 : 315, 314 [respectively]. Zaretidinae is not adopted here. ZARETIS was included within the subfamily NYMPHALIDAE: CHARAXINAE by Ackery et al., in Kristensen (1999). The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
