Memo: Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- As Agassiz did not included any species referred Atropos to Oken, 1815 (see above), the type-species must be the sole species originally included by Oken. Atropos Agassiz is a junior homonym of Atropos Leach, [1815] 1830, in Brewster, Edinburgh Encycl. 9: 139 - Insecta, Psocoptera, and a junior objective synonym of Acheronita [Laspeyres], 1809. The Lepidoptera part of Nomencl. zool. (Nom. syst. Generum Anim.) was included in fascicles 9 and 10 issued in one wrapper in 1846. Kitching & Cadiou (2000) list * ATROPOS Oken, 1815; ATROPOS Agassiz, 1846; BRACHYGLOSSA Boisduval, 1828; and * MANDUCA Hübner, 1806 as junior names of ACHERONTIA Laspeyres, 1809.
