Memo: Further information in Nye, 1975 1: 69. Incorrect type-species: Kocak, 1980, Communs Fac. Sci. Univ. Ankara (C) 24: 36, has stated that the type-species should be Noctua ochroleuca [Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775, by subsequent designation by Stephens, 1835, Illust. Br. Ent. (Haustellata): 408. At this reference Stephens included only one species, ochroleuca, in his usage of Atypha but he did not indicate that he considered it to be the type-species. Poole (1989) included only 1 species in the genus ATYPHA.
