Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- Aventia is a junior objective synonym of Laspeyria Germar, 1811. Fletcher (1979) stated:- A junior objective synonym of Laspeyria Germar, 1810. The full synonymy of Laspeyria was published by Nye. 1975, Generic Names Moths World 1: 269, 270. Aventia was originally proposed in the Geometridae, but has since been transferred to the Noctuidae; its first published use in this family appears to have been by Herrich-Schäffer, 1845, Syst. Bearbeitung Schmett. Eur. 2: 434. Poole (1989) included LASPEYRESIA R.L., 1817; COLPOSIA Hübner, [1823]; and AVENTIA Duponchel, 1829 as junior synonyms of LASPEYRIA Germae, 1810.
