Memo: Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:- Bellura was established in the Notodontidae; it was placed in the Noctuidae by Smith, 1893, Bull. U.S. natn. Mus. 44: 181. Poole (1989) included BELLURA in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE, subsequently restricted to the genus AMPHIPYRA by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Other genera formerly treated in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE are treated as HADENINAE by Kitching & Rawlins (1999). Poole (1989) included ARZAMA Walker, 1865; SPHIDA Grote, 1878; and ARZAMOPSIS Dyar, 1922 as junior synonyms of BELLURA Walker, 1865. Poole (1989) included 6 species in the genus BELLURA.
