Memo: Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:- The only species included in Brosis was cited as * Muscatella Fabricius, a corruption of Tinea * Muscalella Fabricius, 1787, Mantissa Insect. 2: 249. The latter is an incorrect subsequent spelling of T. masculella [Denis & Schiffermüller]. Brosis Billberg is a senior objective synonym of the well known and universally used genus Incurvaria Haworth, 1828. A case should be submitted to the Commission under the Code (Edn 3), Article 23(b), for the suppression of Brosis Billberg as it is a senior objective synonym that, to the best of our knowledge, has not been used as a valid name since it was established over 165 years ago. The superfamily INCURVARIIOIDEA is treated as ADELOIDEA in 'Order Lepidoptera Linnaeus, 1758. In: Zhang, Z.-Q. (Ed.) Animal biodiversity: An outline of higher-level classification and survey of taxonomic richness'.
