Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- B. sorghicida is a junior subjective synonym of Sesamia fusca Fuller, 1901, Natal Dep. Agric., First Rep. Govt Entomologist 1899-1900: 45, pl. 11. See also: Calamistis Hampson, 1908. Poole (1989) included BUSSEOLA in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE, subsequently restricted to the genus AMPHIPYRA by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Other genera formerly treated in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE are treated as HADENINAE by Kitching & Rawlins (1999). Poole (1989) included CALAMISTIS Hampson, 1908 as a junior synonym of BUSSEOLA Thurau, 1904. Poole (1989) included 15 species in the genus BUSSEOLA.
