| Memo: | Hemming (1967) stated:- The taxon represented by the nominal species Carterocephalus exornatus Felder is currently treated subjectively on taxonomic grounds as the same as that represented by the older established nominal species Syrichthus flavomaculatus Blanchard, 1852 (Hist. fis. pol. Chile Zool. 7 : 44, pl. 3, figs 9a, b). The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008). See images at Butterflies of America where it is treated in the Heteropterinae. |
