Memo: Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:- Phalaena sinuata Fabricius, 1781: 267, is a junior primary homonym of Phalaena sinuata, 1777, Genera Insect.: 287 - Lepid., Noctuidae. There is no objective replacement name but P. sinuata Fabricius, 1781: 267, was stated by Moore, [1886] 1884-7 ibidem 3: 336, to be a senior subjective synonym of Phalaena marginata Stoll, 1782, in Cramer Uitlandsche Kapellen (Papillons exot.) 4: 243, pl.400, fig.I. Phalaena marginata Stoll, 1782, is itself a junior primary homonym of Phalaena marginata Linnaeus, 1758, Syst. Nat. (Edn 10) 1: 527 - Lepid. Geometridae; the objective replacement name is Idalia pudoraria Hübner [1825] 1816, Verz. bekannter Schmett.: 308, which is thus available for use as a subjective replacement name for Phalaena sinuata Fabricius, 1781: 267. Phalaena sinuata Fabricius, 1777, was again described by Fabricius, Spec. Insect. 2: 254. See also: Idalia Hübner, [1825]. Shaffer (pers. comm.) treats CADARENA in the CRAMBIDAE: SPILOMELINAE.
