Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- P. virens is a junior subjective synonym of Phalaena tridens Hufnagel, 1766, Berlin. Mag. 3 (3): 300. Poole (1989) included CALAMIA in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE, subsequently restricted to the genus AMPHIPYRA by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Other genera formerly treated in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE are treated as HADENINAE by Kitching & Rawlins (1999). Poole (1989) included LUCERIA Heinemann, 1859; and LEDERERIA (as LEDERARIA) Grote, 1874 as junior synonyms of CALAMIA Hübner, 1821. Poole (1989) included 3 species in the genus CALAMIA.
