Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- N. linariae is a junior subjective synonym of Phalaena lunula Hufnagel, 1766, Berlin. mag. 3 (4): 394. Calophasia became available together with included species in 1829 [June]. The generic description followed in 1829 September, Illust. Br. Ent. (Haustellata) 3: 93. Poole (1989) included CLEOPHANA Boisduval, Rambur & Graslin, 1832; RHABDOPHANA Sodoffsky, 1837; and CALLIPHASIA Agassiz, 1847 as junior synonyms of CALOPHASIA Stephens, 1829. Poole (1989) included 10 species in the genus CALOPHASIA.
