| Memo: | Hemming (1967) stated:- Kirby introduced the name Casyapa as a replacement for Chaetocneme Felder (C.), 1850 [sic, see below], which, following Scudder 1875, Proc. amer. Acad. Arts Sci., Boston 10 : 139), he erroneously rejected as a junior homonym of Chaetocnema Stephens, 1831. Under the "One-Letter" Rule now embodied in Article 17 (d) these names are not to be looked upon as being homonyms of one another. Accordingly, the name Chaetocneme Felder is an available name, and its replacement name Casyapa Kirby is invalid as a junior objective synonym of Chaetocneme Felder. Cowan (1968: 11) stated:- [CASYAPA] line 1: "1850" should read; 1860 line 2: "following" should read; like The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008). |
