Memo: Fletcher (1979) stated:- H. senilis is currently treated as a subspecies of Hemerophila retractaria Moore, 1868, Proc. zool. Soc. Lond. 1867: 627, pl.32, fig.7. The part of Seitz containing page 454 has appeared only in the German edition; the date of its publication is stated on page 449 to be 22.x.1941. Parsons et al. (1999) included CERUNCINA Wehrli, 1941; EPHEMEROPHILA Warren, 1894; HEMEROPHILA Stephens, 1829; LEPTODONTOPERA Warren, 1894; and MALACUNCINA Wehrli, 1941 as junior synonyms of MENOPHRA Moore, 1887.
