Memo: Nye & Fletcher (1991) included CHIONELLIDEA in the family SYMMOCIDAE, treated by Hodges, in Kristensen (1999) as a subfamily of AUTOSTICHIDAE. Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:- Chionellidea was established as an objective replacement name for Chionella Amsel, 1935, a junior homonym. Chionellidea was etablished in the Scythrididae; it was transferred to the Symmocidae by Sattler, 1973, Bull. Br. Mus. nat. Hist. (Ent.) 28: 183.
