Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- A junior homonym of Aethia Merrem, 1788, Verz. Grundrisses allg. Cesch. . . .Voegel 1 (Tentamen nat. Syst. Avium): 7, 20, -Aves. The objective replacement name is Trisateles Tams, 1939. Aethia Hübr, [1825] 1816 was treated in the Noctuidae, Hypeninae\Herminiinae in Nye (1975: 493. The senior objective synonym of Aethia, Trisateles Tams, 1939 was transferred from the Hypeninae to the Catocalinae within the Noctuidae by Tikhomirov, 1979, Trudy Zoologicheskogo Instituta Akademii Nauk SSSR 82 : 82. Aethia is also transferred to the Catocalinae here. See: TRISATELES Tams, 1939. Poole (1989) included AETHIA Hübner, 1825 (preoccupied); SOPHRONIA Duponchel, 1845 (preoccupied); and STANDFUSSIA Spuler, 1907 (preoccupied) as junior synonyms of TRISATELES Tams, 1939.
