Memo: Hemming (1967) stated:- Cirrochroa aoris was the only species placed in this genus, when Doubleday introduced this generic name on the legend to his plate 21, published in October 1847. In the relevant portion of the text ((1) : 158) Doubleday placed five species in this genus, but this was not published until April 1848. The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
