| Memo: | Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- Cistissa was established in the Bombycidae, associated with Lasiocampidae genera; it was placed in the latter family by Kirby, 1892, Synonymic Cat. Lepid. Heterocera 1: 833. The type of Cistissa expansa, recently found in the Hope Entomological Collections in the University Museum at Oxford, has proved to be a species of Podalia Walker, 1856, probably a junior subjective synonym of Podalia fuscescens Walker, 1856, List Specimens lepid. Insects Colln Br. Mus. 7: 1716. Cistissa is therefore here transfered to the Megalopygidae. |
