Memo: Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:- Cladocera Rambur is not preoccupied by * Cladocera Blainvilla, 1834, Manuel Actinologie: 670, an incorrect subsequent spelling of Cladocera Ehrenburg & Hemprich, [1834] 1832, Abh. preuss. Akad. Wiss. 1832:309. Cladocera Rambur is, however, a junior homonym of Cladocera Hope, 1840, Coleopt. Manual 3:169, - Insecta, Coleoptera. There is no objective replacement name, but E. hispana is congeneric with Bombyx glaucina Esper, 1789, the type-species of Episema Ochsenheimer, 1816. The latter is therefore availiable for use as a subjective replacement name. E. hispana is a junior primary homonym of Episema trimacula hispina Boisduval, 1834, Icones Hist. Lépid. 2:pl.72, figs 4,5 - Lepid., Noctuidae. The objective replacement name in Episema ramburi Zerny, 1927, Eos, Madr. 3:374. Cladocera in the Noctuidae, Cuculliinae, is cited here as it was not included in Nye, 1975, Generic Names Moths World 1. Poole (1989) included ORTHOGRAMMA R.L. 1817 (as ORTHOGORAMMA on page 740); CLEOCERIS Boisduval, 1836; DERTHISA Walker, 1857; and CLADOCERA Rambur, 1858 as junior synonyms of EPISEMA Ochsenheimer, 1816.
