Memo: Cowan (1970) stated:- Papers are now in press (J. Soc. Biblphy. nat. Hist.) on the two well-known European works, the Icones hist. Lep. by Boisduval and the Collection des Chenilles by Boisduval, Rambur, D. M., and Graslin. Although the collations were approximately known, the exact details have been worked out. All citations by Hemming are correctly dated. However, the other serial work, Boisduval & Le Conte, 1829-37, Hist. gen. Iconogr. Lép. Amér. sept., was ill-documented. A study has been made of all the contemporary periodicals and records to establish satisfactory data, and the results appear in J. Soc. Biblphy. nat. Hist. 5 (2) : 125-134. Corrigenda; "Leconte" should read Le Conte in all cases. Where a date is given, this also applies. Names in brackets are ones where the citation occurs in the discussion; only four generic names themselves are affected. AGANISTHOS [1835], (CELTIPHAGA) [1837], AGRAULIS [1835], (EPIDEMIA) [l835], (ASTEROCAMPA) [1835], (EUPSYCHE) [1835], (ATRYTONE) [1837], (HEDONE) [1837], CALLIDRYAS - , (MEGATHYMUS) [1835], (MITOURA) [1835], (NYMPHIDIA) [1835], (RHABDOIDES) -, RHODOCERA -, XANTHIDA [1830]. [Affects the genus author of Hemming, 1967 i.e. Leconte (p.30) becomes Le Conte, etc.] The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
