Memo: Hemming (1967) stated:- It is of interest to note that in this paper Dalman was the first author to introduce in the butterflies the concept of a type-species for a genus, using the formula : "Generis Typus : A. urticae.". AGLAIS was included within the subfamily NYMPHALIDAE: NYMPHALINAE by Ackery et al., in Kristensen (1999). The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
