| Memo: | Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:- Agriope Ragonot, 1894, is not preoccupied by * Agriope Rafinesque, 1815, Analyse de la Nature: 137 - Crustacea, which was published without a diagnosis and without included nominal species and is therefore a nomen nudum and an unavailable name under the Code, Article 12. The name was not subsequently used, so far as we can discover, until its proposal by Ragonot, 1894. |
