Memo: Fletcher (1979) stated:- Diceratodesia was originally proposed as a subgenus of Abraxas Leach, [1815]. Diceratodesia Wehrli, 1935 was originally an unavailable name as no type-species was designated; Kocak, 1981, Priamus 1 (3) : 104. Parsons et al. (1999) included CALLISPILUS Agassiz, 1847; CALOSPILUS Hübner, 1816; CHOOREECHILLUM Lucas, 1901; DEXTRIDENS Wehrli, 1934; DICERATODESIA Wehrli, 1935; EMPRIONONYX Wehrli, 1936; ISOSTICTIA Wehrli, 1934; MESOHYPOLEUCA Wehrli, 1935; OMOPHYSETA Warren, 1894; POTERA Moore, 1879; PRIONONYX Wehrli, 1935; RHABDOTAEDOEAGUS Wehrli, 1935; SILABRAXAS Swinhoe, 1900; SPILOTA Hübner, 1822; SPINUNCUS Wehrli, 1935; and TRIMERESIA Wehrli, 1935 as junior synonyms of ABRAXAS Leach, 1815. Parsons et al. (1999) included 176 species and 37 subspecies (inc. nominates) in the genus ABRAXAS Leach.
