Memo: Watson, Fletcher & Nye (1980) stated:- The type-species designation by Kirby, 1892, Synonymic Cat. Lepid. Heterocera 1: 173, of Anycles rhodura Butler, 1876, J. Linn. Soc. (Zool.) 12: 425 is invalid as he linked this name not with an originally included name, but with an unnamed Walker `var' (in the Lithosiinae) of an originally included name Euchromia acharon Fabricius, [1777], Genera Insect.: 556 (Zygaenidae). The present designation of ferruginosa Walker maintains the long accepted concept of Dipaenae because Walker's `var', (subsequently named by Butler, 1876, ibidem 12: 425, as rhodura) is currently considered to be conspecific with ferruginosa Walker. Dipaenae was established as a subgenus of Euchromia Hübner, [1819].
