Memo: Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- A junior homonym of Doubledaya White, 1850, Proc. ent. Soc. Lond (N.S.) 1: 13, - Insecta, Coleoptera. There is no objective replacement name, but D. zagraeus is a junior subjective synonym of Castnia zagraea Felder, 1874, the type-species of Zegara Oiticica, 1955; the latter is thus available for use as a subjective replacement name. Buchecker established the name as * Doubldaya, and it was so spelt on both plates II and 23. In subsequent usage, however, the name has been consistently spelt Doubledaya, it having been assumed that the name was a patronym in honour of either of the two entomologists, Henry Doubleday (1809-1875) or Edward Doubleday (1810-1849). * Doubldaya has been treated in the past as an incorrect original spelling and is similarly treated in this catalogue. The date of publication of Buchecker's work is taken from Derkson & Scheiding, 1963, Index Litt. ent. (2) 1: 385.
