Drasteriodes Hampson, 1926 was treated in the Noctuidae, Ophiderine in Nye 1975, Generic Names Moths World, 1 : 165. Drasteriodes has subsequently been referred to the Tytinae from the Ophiderinae within the Noctuidae by Speidel, Fanger & Naumann, 1996, Systematic Entomology 21 (3) : 249. Poole (1989) included DRASTERIODES in the subfamily OPHIDERINAE, treated as CALPINAE by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Poole (1989) included 8 species in the genus DRASTERIODES.
