Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- Phalaena pinastri Linnaeus, 1761, Fauna Suecica (Edn. 2): 315, was proposed as the objective replacement name for P. scabriuscula presumably because pine woodland was cited as the habitat in the Fauna Suecica. Under the Code Article 18 (a), a nomenclaturally available species-group name cannot afterwards be rejected even by its own author, because of inappropriateness. Poole (1989) included DYPTERYGIA in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE, subsequently restricted to the genus AMPHIPYRA by Kitching & Rawlins, in Kristensen (1999). Other genera formerly treated in the subfamily AMPHIPYRINAE are treated as HADENINAE by Kitching & Rawlins (1999). Poole (1989) included DIPTERYGIA Agassiz, 1847 as a junior synonym of DYPTERYGIA Stephens, 1829. Poole (1989) included 16 species in the genus DYPTERYGIA.
