Memo: Fletcher (1979) stated:- Dysgnophos was originally proposed as a subgenus of Gnophos Treitschke, 1825, and was again so proposed by Wehrli, 1953, in Seitz, Gross-Schmett. Erde 4 (Suppl.): 592. It was raised to generic rank by Vojnits, 1975, Annls hist.-nat. Mus. natn. hung. 67: 193. Parsons et al. (1999) included ACROGNOPHOS Wiltshire, 1967; CATASCIA Hübner; CHELEGNOPHOS Wehrli, 1951; CNESTROGNOPHOS Wehrli, 1951; DICROGNOPHOS Wehrli, 1951; DYSGNOPHOS Wehrli, 1951; GNOPHUS Agassiz, 1847; ORGANOGNOPHOS Wehrli, 2952; PTERYGNOPHOS Wehrli, 1951; RHINOGNOPHOS Wehrli, 1953; RHIPIGNOPHOS Wehrli, 1951; SACROGNOPHOS Wehrli, 1951; SCOTOPTERIX Hübner, 1825; SCOTOPTERYX Agassiz, 1847; TRILOBIGNOPHOS Wehrli, 1951; and ZYSTROGNOPHOS as junior synonyms of GNOPHOS Treitschke, 1825.
