Memo: Fletcher & Nye (1982) stated:- As Agassiz did not included any species but referred Elpenor to Oken, 1815 (see above), the type-species must be selected from one of the four species originally included by Oken. Elpenor Agassiz, 1846, is a junior objective synonym of Deilephila [Laspeyres], 1809. The Lepidoptera part of Nomencl. zool. (Nom. syst. Generum Anim.) was included in fascicles 9 and 10 issued in one wrapper dated 1846. Kitching & Cadiou (2000) list CHOEROCAMPA Duponchel, 1835; CINOGON Butler, 1881; DILEPHILA Hampson, 1893; ELPENOR Agassiz, 1846; * ELPENOR Oken, 1815; * EUMORPHA Hübner, 1806 and METOPSILUS Duncan, 1836 as junior synonyms of DEILEPHILA Laspeyres, 1809.
