Memo: Hemming (1967) stated:- The taxon represented by the nominal species Papilio peleus Linnaeus is currently treated subjectively on taxonomic grounds as being the same as that represented by the older-established nominal species Papilio priassus Linnaeus, 1758, (Syst. Nat. (ed. 10) 1 : 487). The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008). See images at Butterflies of America where it is treated in the subfamily Eudaminae.
