| Memo: | Fletcher (1979) stated:- Incorrect type-species: Phalaena muricata Hufnagel, 1767, a name not originally included in Eois and not linked with one of the originally included names when designated by Hulst, 1896, Trans. Am. ent. Soc. 23: 304. Parsons et al. (1999) included AMAURINIA Guenée, 1857; AMPHIBATODES Warren, 1895; ANTHYRIA Swinhoe, 1892; BARDANES Moore, 1888; CAMBOGIA Guenée, 1857; CRETHEIS Meyrick, 1886; PHRUDOPLAGA Warren, 1894; PRASINOSCIA Warren, 1905; PSEUDASTHENA Moore, 1887; and PSILOCAMBOGIA Hampson, 1893 as junior synonyms of EOIS Hübner, 1818. Parsons et al. (1999) included 248 species and 17 subspecies (inc. nominates) in the genus EOIS. |
