Memo: Nye & Fletcher (1991) included ACANTHOPHILA in the family GELECHIIDAE. Hodges, in Kristensen (1999) included ACANTHOPHILA in the subfamily DICHOMERIDINAE. ACANTHOPHILA Heinemann, 1870 was referred to the ANACAMPSINAE from the GELECHIINAE (within the Gelechiidae) by Kuznetzov & Stekolnikov, 1984, Trudy Zoologicheskogo Instituta Akademii Nauk SSSR 122 : 33.
