Memo: Hemming (1967) stated:- This is another case in which owing to dilatoriness Boisduval was anticipated by another author (in this case, Doubleday) in publishing a name distributed by himself long before as a manuscript name. When publishing this name in 1870 Boisduval certainly looked upon himself as its author, treating it as a new name then published for the first time. The name Epicalia Boisduval is invalid, as being a junior homonym of Epicalia Doubleday, 1844. The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
