Memo: Nye (1975) stated:- E. lanigera Butler, 1880 April, is a junior subjective synonym of Daphoenura smithii Mabille, 1880 March, Bull. Soc. ent. Fr. (5)9: clxxiv. D. smithii was proposed as * Daphnaeura, an incorrect subsequent spelling. Epicausis was originally placed in the Arctiidae. Poole (1989) included 4 species in the genus EPICAUSIS.
